Nauru is the country with highest rate of obesity. According to the World Health Organization, 61% of adults in the small Pacific island nation have a BMI above 30. Of the ten countries with the highest rate of obesity, eight of them are in Oceania.

Polynesians have a genetic mutation that makes them store fat more efficiently.

It is thought this is because pre-colonisation their diets were low in fat. Now that they have a more western diet their bodies crave and then store fat.

This is only one contributing factor however alongside all the more common ones like poor diet, lack of exercise etc

I think india, bangladesh, nepal and east timor have skinnier people are either that they dont have enough money to buy food or they have a high hindu population so they cant eat fatty meat
