U.S. States by Population in 2070

Methodology
We used a fairly simple method to make these projections. For each state, we looked at its population for the years 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, and 2018. Then we used Python's "polyfit" tool to find a quadratic function which best fit the data for those years. We simply plugged the year 2070 into the function to get a projected population.
Caveats
This is a very simplistic analysis that probably overestimates future population growth. Our estimate for the 2070 population of the United States is 495 million, higher than most other projections (but lower than some). A more complete analysis would take into account age cohorts, immigration, and fertility, which we don't consider at all.
