In 1905, the Dawson City Nuggets of the Yukon Territory challenged the Ottawa Senators for the Stanley Cup. To play against their foes, the hockey players from Dawson City embarked on an arduous three week journey via dogsled, train, and steamship. When they finally arrived in Ottawa, they were roundly defeated by scores of 9–2 and 23–2.
