If you're confused about #88, here's an explanation.

Let's say someone says something like: "We've been printing money to pay for government expenses for more than a decade. It hasn't ruined the nation". The retort is "there is a great deal of ruin in a nation".

The ship of state takes a long time to turn. Just because irresponsible actions don't immediately cause disastrous consequences doesn't mean they one day wont.

My teacher has practically preached that first quote, but I never expected Stalin to have been the original to say it. Don't get me wrong, it is a very true one. If we see a million people die, our brains go into overload and feel little emotion. If we hear about just one specific person, and what they looked like, we will feel much sadness.
