As a southerner I do this but I was completely unaware of it until I was about 35 when an Irishman pointed it out to me. Now I am aware of it I try not to do it but it's hard to stop a weird pronunciation error when it is that ingrained. We only do it when the next word begins with a vowel by the way.

That video rental chain is technically not bankrupt. They went through bankruptcy, liquidated assets, and were eventually purchased by DirecTV, who now owns the brand and still operates a handful of stores under the old name. The clue should maybe just say "now all-but-gone" or something along those lines.
