Going Overboard was actually not a bad movie. Yeah, the production value was terrible, but he says that it's going to be terrible at the beginning of the movie.
I've seen way too many of these...and they mostly sucked. Of all of these, the only ones I would recommend are Wedding Singer, Waterboy, Billy Madison, and Mr. Deeds. I thought Funny People was one of the worst movies I had ever seen. No matter how you try to spin it, cancer is NEVER funny.
Mr Deeds and The Waterboy were awful. Funny People I thought was actually pretty decent. But the only Sandler movies I've truly liked were Wedding Singer, Happy Gilmore, and 50 First Dates. Plus the first ten minutes or so of Zohan was funny up until he moved to America and started having sex with old ladies.
Airheads wasn't really an Adam Sandler movie, though. He was just in it. And it was predictable 80s (early 90s?) comedy pap. Forgettable, but, not as offensively awful as, say... Little Nicky.
Punch Drunk Love suh-huh-hucked, but I thought he did a decent turn in acting, especially alongside Philip Seymour Hoffman who did a a standout job in a turd movie.
The Wedding Singer. 50 First Dates. Uncut Gems. Punch Drunk Love. Happy Gilmore. Click. All of those have their fans. But... with all of these... your mileage may vary.
a few movies but yeah
