The first big movie adaptation of The Merchant Of Venice, starring Al Pacino as the classic Jewish stereotype, Shylock.
Equally strange is that speaking of big movie adaptations, they used to do silent movies of Shakespeare. Desperate for entertainment I guess.

Panic in Needle Park. I guess that did not get wide distribution.

Glad to see Carlito's Way here, which is one of my favourite movies. Again, Heat is not here, just as it was with the De Niro one, which is sad. The real Joey Pistone,(aka Donnie Brasco) by the way, is still in hiding, even though he is famous. With the mob, it is for life. So if you cross them, the hit on you is forever. So he is still in hiding, with a fake identity, all these years later.
