Buffalo is a reasonable healthy alternative to beef when making burgers, though ostrich meat is even healthier and tastes a lot better in my opinion, too.
Ostrich is great, first time I had it was at a restaurant, and they asked how I would like it done. I was surprised because I was expecting something more like chicken or turkey. But it's actually red meat, and what I got was more like a steak. not what I expected but definitely a good meal, I've had it a few times since then.
I only knew Hassenpfeffer due to the Looney Tunes Episode. In case you do not remember, Yosemite Sam is a chef to German king sick of his meals and wants Hassenpfeffer. When Yosemite sees the ingredients, he sees a RABBIT as one of the ingredients, and Bugs Bunny fits the bill. The rest is just Bugs Bunny outsmarting him.
That was why they were first domesticated. I don't imagine you get much meat off them, but there are plenty of them in Peru, so it's probably quite a good source of meat.
Theirs are really big IIRC, so my guess you get about the same type and amount of meat as if you were eating rabbit (i.e. less than on a chicken, and drier meat too)
Peruvian immigrant here... Guinea pigs have way less meat than a rabbit, there's really not much to them at all. They're very fatty so the meat is genuinely tasty, but they're a bit of a pain to eat for not a lot of reward.
Hamburgers can be made from many different types of meat, including beef, pork, turkey, and even veggie. I recommend that you change the food to steak to make it more specific.
Bacon is "Beekon". Anglicized word in entirety (spelled in katakana, there's no kanji or hiragana of it) since the Japanese didn't traditionally eat pork products for most of their history. Whale in Japanese is kujira, so I'm guessing it would be something like "beekon no kujira".
Don't knock it until you try it. I had it in a bar in Mexico City. It has a nutty taste and tastes great on tortillas with guacamole. Also, fried larvae in the same bar tasted like French fries.
After a lovely meal of mussels in Ostend I noticed a large truck delivering great bags of mussels to the restaurant. I asked the driver unloading the bags where they came from ........ "West Wales" was his answer.
Cow would be an answer for dairy products. For hamburger cattle or oxen is more appropriate. Beef most often comes from steers as the cows are needed to produce more calves.
You should have had "Skippy" on the list, because that's what us Aussies call it when we eat kangaroo. Skippy The Bush Kangaroo was a very well known tv show in the 80s and 90s here in Australia.
Not to be too nit-picky, but "Hasenpfeffer" is made of hare and not rabbit specifically. There is a big difference too, hare is red meat whereas rabbit is white meat (so probably a bigger difference than beef vs. venison).
Auk isn't a species but a family which includes murres, guillemots, auklets, puffins, and murrelets. I tried puffin but didn't think to try auk. Since a puffin is an auk, it seems like it should work.
The punchline.
I've also eaten whale bacon in Japan. Not sure what the Japanese name for it is.
He showed me his chest
I started to jest
And he smacked me all the way back to brussels
I'm horrible
because I'm vegetarian
