Wikipedia says sea shanty, chantey, or chanty are used, and there has never been a standardized spelling, but the word may have originated from the French "chanter". Technically speaking, Aegean Sea is a part of Mediterranean Sea, so I guess the latter could also be accepted as an answer. I believe no one would argue that if Miami can be found in Florida, it can also be found in the United States ;)
