Any chance of it accepting "inverted eight" or "sideways eight" for the infinity symbol?

Yeah, there's nothing that signals position in "figure eight". I tried "sideways" and "lying down" and couldn't think of anything else.

I thought "horizontal" was the most logical.

Tried sideways, on side, turned... this one needs more clarification. Also, what about 8 Men Out of the famed Black Sox? Thought that would be here.

I tried all those and "drunk," because that's what I find myself calling it more often than anything else.

Agree with all above. Poor question in my opinion. I know exactly what the infinity sign looks like, but couldn't get this correct.

Seriously "Eight Elvises"? Get a grip, some pretty tenuous links here, but that takes the biscuit. I would bin it.

At one point in the early 2010s it was the must expensive Warhol piece ever sold at approximately 100 million. My laziness prevents me from looking up where it ranks today.

So that's what a piece of eight means? Now the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie makes a bit more sense.

oo that s an interesting theory, I will have to look it up. I used to know it for some other symbols, this doesnt ring a bell, but not alternate explanation comes to mind either. So maybe I never investigated that one.

Maybe to preserve the Figure Eight answer but allow more people to correctly guess it, you could change the clue to “Common ice skating move” or something similar?
