The Infinite monkey theorem proposes that an infinite number of monkeys typing on an infinite number of typewriters would eventually type the complete works of Shakespeare....but I bet they'd never come up with Uriel or Yahir.

Popular here in the mid-south USA, along with Austin, Chance, Beau, Mason (Mason-Dixon Line), Cash, Rhett, Colt, Peyton, Clayton, Cooper...and one I heard recently which I hope doesn't catch on, Zartan. And then there's the entire universe of two-name names, including Jimmy Dale, Tommy Lee, Darrell Ray, Billie Bob, Jerry Lee, Johnny Mack, etc.

yes overall they probably are, but if you go around asking young children for their names, you will get a lot more Noahs and Masons and Finns because a lot of people are using those names for children born now. you won't encounter them amongst your peer group though

This wasn't a quiz about all the most popular names in the US, but only names given to babies in a specific year. Names follow trends which constantly change. My guess is that Charlotte will become a popular girls name now that William and Kate have chosen it for the new princess.
+2
Level 76
Jun 19, 2019
Oh, Charlotte was already well on the upswing by the time Will and Kate had their baby. It was the 289th most popular girl's name in the US in 2000, 135th in 2005, 46th in 2010, and 10th in 2014, the year before the Princess was born. As of 2018, it's number 6.

"King" a clue for Henry? Is this just a bad reference to the relative prevalence of kings across Europe called Henry or something else?
+1
Level 66
Dec 13, 2018
Not many (if any?) Other kings start with an "h" and yes apparently there were many henrys (back in the old days not too much variation, often hade the same name as ypur father and your son, and what I find most weird, sometimes even.as your brother! (Less strange if the first had died, very common yo rename then but have came across many family trees where syblings had the same name while bring alive)
