Great quiz. Funny that the only ones I've seen live are the two least guessed.

Couldn't get NWA out of my mind even though I knew it was wrong. Still happy with 19.

:-O finally NIN makes the front page! and I like that Trent is the only one listed :)

Couldn't think of The Killers and Phish. 20 out of 22 isn't bad.

Uhhh, the Stones, U2, Queen, NIN, CCR, The Who. Yep, some real slackers there.

Sadly only 85% knows Queen.. surprinsingly depressing... come on boys, at least 90%?

A band that peaked 5 decades ago, FIFTY YEARS, well before the majority of the people of this site were born, still was guessed by 85% of test takers just based on last names... and you think that's a sad statement on society somehow? I don't understand the stagnated world you boomers want sometimes lol.

But how is it a band if it's only 1 person 😐

Well, it's two (Ross skipped). Then there are the previous members and the touring line-up.

You've never heard of a one-man band?

Nine Inch Nails has been a band with multiple members many times (occasionally in the studio, and always while on tour), but Trent is the only permanent member. Or at least the only one that has always been there. At this point Atticus Ross is pretty well a fixture.

A good mixture; I like that Green Day lineup, and it made me think it would have been fun to list them strictly by "surname", giving you for instance clues like "D, X, Flav".

Read the ABBA names and all I could think was it must be some black metal band, which I found odd to be included in a quiz about bands popular in the US.

It's Roger Daltrey, not "Daltry".

Great quiz. My only quibble is that Stanley should be listed before Simmons - every other band the lead singer is listed first and Stanley sings the vast majority of the lead vocals (or at least that's the way it looks to us in the UK based on their hits/well-known songs/music videos). Just because Simmons has the biggest ego shouldn't mean he has to be listed first!

A lot of people think Simmons is the lead singer because he is the face of the band and sings lead on their biggest song (the only one a lot of people know). But you're that Paul Stanley is the true lead singer.

Only 9% of people missed a band that peaked 50 years ago. Think about it that way. Go test some boomers on their knowledge of music that was 20-30 years before they were even born and see how well they do lol.

These classic rock bands literally peaked 50-60 years ago. Expecting younger generations to know this crap is as ridiculous as expecting my boomer mom to know all about her parents' fav big band groups. It's silly. Also, you can enjoy music without knowing the names of band members.

Queen is miraculously overrated. Hopefully with time the percentage will go down further.
