This quiz was made in 2012 but for this update I only changed one thing: adding Steve to the Trout question. It's remarkable that aren't really any "must add" players in the last 11 years. Also remarkable just how few outstanding players with the last name Smith have played in the majors over the years.

Never heard of Dizzy Trout, lucky guess.

Tried Dean about five times, sure that there had never been another Dizzy.

Should include Steve on Trout.

Who in the world is Dizzy Trout. If you're going to use the name Dizzy, go with Dizzy Dean and his brother (who I think is named Paul) Dean. They were both pitchers for the cardinals in the 50s and 60s.

Yeah, only one I got wrong. Certainly intentional knowing that most would think "Dean".

Actually, the brothers Dean played mainly in the 1930s. Dizzy Trout pitched a little bit after that.

Dizzy and Paul (Daffy) Dean pitched in the 30s.

Here's one baseball fan in support of Dizzy Trout. He completely deserves to be here.

But his son Steve, should be included too. Once "Dean" is not accepted, "Mike" is of virtually zero help. Steve played for 12 seasons, so would be a legitimate player to include. The convergence of only 2 players on a single surname is a stretch. Where it's easily doable, as is the case with Trout, 3 names give quiz-takers a fighting chance.

Technically, there was a Dizzy Dean and a Mike (Michael) Dean that played baseball so you should add "Steve" to make "Trout" the only acceptable answer -- or otherwise accept "Dean," too.

I am not american and I know nothing about baseball. But I got a decent score just by typing in typical spanish and american last names.

Did Dizzy Trout have Whirling Disease?

Ah, yes. The world famous Paul "Dizzy" Trout and his son, Steve "Rainbow" Trout (yes, that was really his nickname). I never heard of either of them, and apparently Steve played during my childhood years when I was following baseball fairly closely. Neither Mike, nor Steve were of any help once "Dean" didn't work for Dizzy, but hey...I learned something new today...

Bengie, Jose, and Yadier Molina would be good additions
