I only missed three people and one of them was Babe Ruth. I think that means I lose automatically.

Got all of the career records, but was blanking on the regular season winners. Managed to get 20 total.

I saw the clue for '7 Cy Young Awards' and I remembered I hadn't gotten him yet... thanks, Quizmaster.

Seriously, a little more forgiveness on spelling. I put McClain and it wouldn't accept the answer.

I did the same--too many Die Hard movies . . .

October 2, 1968. Our teachers brought TVs to class to let us watch Bob Gibson pitch against Denny McLain in the first game of the series. They believed it was an historic moment not to be missed. (All except the math teacher. The only time he brought a TV was when there was a NASA space launch.)

Apparently, I know even less about baseball than I thought I did, and also, no all-time home run record?

Don't wanna have the same player appear twice.

Could you check the accepted spellings for Orel Hershiser? I thought I spelled that correctly.

Initially tried Hersheiser...eventually got it. A little leeway might be good.

Or just accept "Orel". How many Orels have played Major League Baseball?

1961: 61 home runs, Roger Maris. Just so people don't forget who set the single-season HR record without cheating.

Not yet, lol. I would give him a very good chance to set that record. He's tall, he strikes out a lot, he's new to the league so pitchers will figure him out, and finally he's a good enough hitter to get play time even if he strikes out a lot. I'd give him a 25% chance to break the record in 2019 if he stays healthy.

2019 results are in. Judge had 141 strikeouts in 102 games. At that pace, had he played all 162 games, he would have tied Reynold's record of 223 strikeouts. I'm rooting for him to stay healthy and break the record in 2020!

Why the arbitrary cutoff of 1950? This is not the only baseball quiz that does that. I can see the "modern era" (c. 1900) as a cutoff, but many greats are missing with the 1950 cutoff.
