So, I got everyone except Kershaw and Peavy. Jeez, I have never even heard of Kershaw - I wouldn't have gotten him in a multiple choice. I've heard of Peavy, but I didn't know he was that good. And I typed Hubbell twice - I thought for sure he had won the Triple Crown.

I thought of Hubbell, also---maybe because he won 2 MVP Awards!?

You should make Yaz acceptable for Carl Yastrzemski

@meilankev: I was sure Hubbel was there too, and ALSO typed him twice. Also was surprised not to see Greg Maddux, Tom Seaver, and Bob Gibson.

Certainly, Maddux was great - but I never looked at him as a K pitcher. The problem with Gibson and Seaver were all the other great NL pitchers in their era (Koufax, Marichal, Drysdale, Perry, Jenkins, Carlton, et al). It's difficult to win a triple crown with so many other great pitchers competing with you.

Have no idea what a baseball triple crown is, hate sports, and never watch baseball... but still got 7. yay

You forgot to put the asterisk next to Miguel "performance-enhancing-drugs" Cabrera; 2012.

The first and only time I ever played Fantasy Baseball was 2011. I had lost track of all of the players after the strike of 1994, as that really killed my passion for the game. Prior to our draft, I listened to a 15-minute podcast discussing various players, checked statistical league leaders for the previous season and took a shot. I was the last guy to draft a starting pitcher. In the 6th round, I took Justin Verlander. In the 7th round, I took Clayton Kershaw. Good year to own Verlander & Kershaw!

That was the first time since 1924 that both leagues had a pitching triple crown winner. And I had both guys. And every other owner passed on both of them at least 5 times. I smoked the rest of the field, won the league and retired from Fantasy Baseball. :-)

Baseball today would be a lot more fun if players still had names like "Hippo Vaughn."
