I can't believe 15 isn't enough to make the 80th percentile. Must be nothing but Oregonians taking this quiz.

looking at the results I would think so. I expected about a 75% drop off after Portland but instead its only 15

actually, as an Oregonian it's surprising that Salem is #2. For the longest time Eugene was #2.

Eugene and Salem tend to flip back and forth. Eugene also feels much more like a bigger city than Salem, since a lot of downtown Salem is government buildings while Eugene has the University of Oregon and a lot of bigger office buildings.

By now typing in Springfield, Columbus and Columbia should make up most of the cities I get in these quizzes.

Glad I got 1 point for my 3. Wish I wrote Oregon City instead of just Oregon, though.

No Astoria? How can the town that brought us The Goonies, Short Circuit AND Kindergarten Cop not be on here?

I live in Astoria, we have a population of about 35.9K, it is kind of weird he didn’t put it in but I get it, Astoria has grown from 20K to almost 37K in the last year so I get it, he just needs to update the quiz..

The population of Astoria reached a maximum of 14,027 in the year 1920 and has mostly declined since.

The current population of Astoria (as of 2022) is 10,182.

However, we added it as a "bonus" city.

I got 3 right and a point! - Knew the first 2 and then "Springfield" is a good guess any time.

You should really add Shaniko. Its population of 37 should qualify it for this quiz.

It doesn't include attempts with 0 answers. Must be people who only know Salem (and maybe Springfield).

shocked there was no Klamath Falls or Ashland

Klamath Falls now a bonus city.

It seems like the quizmaster's intention is to try to break the monotony of the answers (which, by population, are dominated by Willamette Valley cities and suburbs of Portland) but including "interesting" bonus cities. I suspect what makes them "interesting" is distance from an existing qualifying city, so he probably considered Ashland too close to Medford.

Any chance of accepting Oregon for Oregon City?
+1
Level 68
Jun 29, 2023
My understanding is the reason things like that are accepted elsewhere (for example, Salt Lake City) is because people actually call those cities by those names. But no one calls Oregon City "Oregon" so I doubt that'll happen
