It's good to update my knowledge of my home state. Still missed two. Bit of a shame that the capital didn't make the cut in 2012.

Extended the cutoff so that Olympia is on the list.

Complete opposite end of the state, too. Vancouver, WA is across the border from Portland, OR.

It's a big pain trying to get Google Map directions from Seattle to Vancouver because it's about equally likely to give you either one.

Oh, drat. I was hoping this was a quiz on the biggest cities in the District of Columbia. I was all set to ace that one...

I got Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma and Redmond (Nintendo/Microsoft HQ)... should have gotten Bellevue, that's where my hotel was on my one and only trip to the state.

No Olympia? No SeaTac?
+2
Level 50
Jun 16, 2014
Nope. Olympia isn't the smallest state capital, but I don't think there are any that are lower on their state's population list. And SeaTac is just a small slice of of the I-5 corridor that happens to have an international airport in it.

Yep. Olympia ranks last on their states population list. I cant remember if Jefferson City or Montpelier are next.

Having gone through security inspections at SeaTac, I can confirm that it has a daytime population of >10 million.

SeaTac isn't really a city I think? I'm not entirely sure if it is or not, but in any case hardly any people live there, it's mostly just the airport. I was surprised that there was no Olympia too, thought the population was over 50k but I guess not!

Nope, SeaTac is a city now. Sad they couldn't have come up with a better name.

The curse of being from Washington, couldn't think of all the big cities because all the names of little towns kept popping into my head. Of course, I haven't lived there in years, and it was eastern and central, at that.

It's hard to believe there are more people in Marysville than Olympia but Google says that Olympia's population is only 48,000+

I know my comment is four and a half years late, but you're literally taking this quiz on a computer (or smartphone). Instead of commenting on your non-belief in a Vancouver in Washington, why didn't you just go to Google and type in "Vancouver, WA?" Or were you being sarcastic? It's impossible to tell, this being 2020 and all. Please, let this year be over in a couple days...

The quiz is really out of date. Since several of the cities in Washington State have passed others. Here is one I found on google but it isn't listed on jet punk yet it is a jet punk quiz.

https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/313201/wa-state-25-largest-cities

Wonder why I can't find it on jet punk when I run a search. Maybe update this quiz. Seattle, Kent, Federal Way and other cities have jumped others or grown.

Well, yeah, on I-5, at least. The two Vancouvers are just over 300 miles apart straight north/south. However, the farthest city (town) in Washington from Vancouver, BC is probably Rogersburg, which is in the far southeast corner of the state and is about 480 miles away. Is that important? No. But your comment made me want to look it up and now I know it, so I figured I'd share.

Am I the only one who thought Olympia was way further north? I could've sworn it was on the peninsula. I didn't put it because of this and I knew it had a smaller population. One of the ten jetpunk commandments has gotta be always type in an answer, even if you don't think it's right. Especially when you give up in 30 seconds after typing six cities like I did.

My eyes glazed over looking at the orange dots for Seattle's suburbs, the same way they always did when I had to drive through them!
