The country of Malta consists of 3 islands called Malta, Gozo and Comino. The largest island (Malta) is 246km2, the second largest (Gozo) is 67km2 and the smallest island (Comino) is 3.5km2. The total area of the country of Malta is 316km2. If anything is wrong, blame wikipedia. XD

I knew Malta was small... but not even in the top 20 biggest islands in its own sea (or top 30, apparently)... that's embarrassing. Also, Mallorca. http://www.lonelyplanet.com/spain/mallorca

I'm sure the Maltese people have come to terms with the geographic constraints of their island.

I think he meant it's embarrassing for the island, not for the people living on it.

I'm not that surprised that 75% are part of Dodecanese archipelago. There's not that many islands anywhere else in the Med.

There is actually only 2 of the dodecanese islands: Rhodes and Samos. Besides, dodecanese means literally "12 islands", so the 75% of 20, which is 15, makes absolutely no sense.

Actually, there is only one island of the Dodecanese, Rhodes. Samos has its own prefecture.

The greatest surprise by me was Cyprus being bigger than Corsica. It doesn't look taht ay in most maps. BTW, Eivissa (local name) should be accepted for Ibiza.

Note; even if the quiz did go that far, Malta wouldn't be on it. it would be its largest constituent island, Victoria, followed by the other one whose name I've forgotten.

Wikipedia gives exactly the same size for Krk and Cres (405.78km²). Is there a reason not to include it? Just thought it was an interesting coincidence.

Because that's another transliteration of Λέσβος. The letter β now makes a sound closer to a "v" than a "b".
