I see AT&T at 226B, Comcast at 182B, Verizon at 177B, etc. Why don't they count as Information Technology?

I wouldn't consider Facebook or Amazon to be tech companies. They are online retailers and social media networks. Owning and operating a web site does not make you a tech company.

Seeing as how Facebook created a widely implemented coding framework, ReactJS, and Amazon is an industry leader in modern development paradigm, they are most certainly tech companies. Tech is more than just physical products.

Yes, but is that coding framework a product that Facebook sells, or is it just an innovation they created internally to improve their social network service. Many non-tech have technical innovations that help their business. Would Wal-Mart count as a tech company then? They have web site developers that have probably developed their own innovative development tools.

I agree that Amazon would be considered a tech company. I forgot about the Kindle and the Fire Phone (is that a thing anymore?). Those are real tech products.

It just seems that there should be a more descriptive summary at the beginning of this quiz. Maybe it should be the top tech and web-based companies instead of just tech companies.

Amazon earns a lot of its income from web hosting. That certainly counts as technology, doesn't it?
