Mine is diamond! Which is cool because it's like the king of all gemstones, but it's not cool because it's so expensive so I don't ever get birthstone jewelry. #firstworldproblems
I have an August birthday, and I have never heard of sardonyx in my life (speaking as someone who knows a great deal about rocks, minerals, and gemstones). It might be one of the variants for August, but peridot is almost always used because it isn't terribly expensive or rare, and it has a nice bright color rather than an opaque surface.
I'm certain you've seen it, even if you don't know what it's called. Sardonyx is a red-banded onyx. Cameos are made out of it. If you're a religious person, it's also the fifth foundation stone of heaven listed in Revelation in some versions of the bible.
Easy when you both worked in a jewellery shop for years AND spent a long time as an actively practicing Wiccan.
(Also, my stone is turquoise. My actual favourites, however, are amethyst, sapphire and garnet. But at least my own's not that bad. I hate pearls and diamonds.)
I have absolutely nothing with jewelry and the likes. As a child I did have a period of fascination of geology though. (I knew the word palaeontologist when I was 8 haha) And I find amethyst, turqoise and saphire the better looking, especially if you look at the pure forms. I absolutely detest diamonds and pearls and gold. You wouldn't get me to wear it even if you paid me for it ! (I might even have a physical aversion to it, I might not even want to hold it for you while you got your hands full/quickly need to do something. Yes it's deep haha)
I really don't get it, well I do, people like valuable stuff, but yea. I wonder how many people would like the same things if the things that are extremely valuable now are cheap as rubish and vice versa. How society and people's minds work is a fascinating thing.
I did my best to think of Steven Universe gems, then did the rest of them that I knew.....got 6/12....so good quiz :) Also, August's birthstone is also Sardonyx.....please fix
I'm a sapphire, which is great because blue is my favorite color, even though other sapphires are different colors, I still love the blue sapphire the best. I learned about gemstones and things like that at school and I got to hold an actual blue sapphire and ruby, they are absolutely gorgeous
Supposedly, the lighter the Sapphire, the more valuable it is.
My Dad gave me a medium blue sapphire ring for my 16th birthday and a white sapphire one for my 21st. (Obviously, I'm September born). My nephew then gave me a dark blue one for my 30th birthday, and that's the one I love the most. The sparkling dark hue reminds me of a deep blue sky or the Caribbean Sea at sunset... Beautiful!
Sardonyx is the original August birthstone, with a history that dates back more than 4,000 years. Learn more about these three August birthstones and discover the perfect gift for those born in the month of August.
I always forget that sapphire is a birthstone for some reason. I was just about to enter it when my mind was like "no, that's not a birthstone". I flipped out when I saw that the September birthstone was sapphire.
Sardonyx is still the original and an "official" birthstone for August and should be accepted (and spinel, apparently); or, an explicit source for the quiz should be given so that the answers can exactly match the source.

It's more like "Name the Eidolon stones from Final Fantasy IX"

Or it is a joke?
