Old Blue - the name of the last remaining fertile female Black Robin on the earth. This species, on an island off the east coast of New Zealand, was incredibly brought back from the brink of extinction in the 1980s. There are now 250 black robins, all descended from "Old Blue".
I think it is rather ok, there a much worse names out there, and so many allready named after plants ( rose lily etc and even margaret, which actually means daisy, which is another one)
A few suggestions for possible future inclusion: blue bells (a pretty flower, which looks awfully purple to me), Blue Ridge Mountains (a particularly scenic stretch of the Appalachians, also mentioned in John Denver’s song, “Take Me Home, Country Roads”), blue cheese, Blue is the Warmest Color (movie), Blue Cross Blue Shield, Island of the Blue Dolphins (children’s book), the Blue Man Group, Rhapsody in Blue (song by George Gershwin), Blue Velvet (weird af 1986 movie by David Lynch), and of course, Blue Ball, Pennsylvania.
+ bluebottle (a fly), R&B, out of the ___, Your Blue Shadow (song by Billy Bob Thornton about Angelina Jolie), blue collar jobs, Swinging Blue Jeans, boys in blue (the police) ...
I will haul up the lutefisk and tell you a tale...
Blue heelers are beautiful dogs though! They're quite short, but very sturdy!
