Yeeessss. More! I find the bodies of water more interesting (but maybe easier) than a lot of the country images.
Strait of Magellan probably would have been a lot harder without the "Strait of _____" hint, and Lake Winnipeg was churning in my brain for a while until it finally clicked.
I recognised the place for the Strait of Magellan, just all forgotten what it was called if I ever knew. Scored Puget Sound when I tried to guess on something completely different. There are a couple there that should be easy for Americans, but are definitely harder if it isn't your home turf. Like Chesapeake, Puget, Winnipeg and Erie.
What do you mean, how is it harder? Simple example: How many of the 100 largest US cities could you name? And how many of the Russian or Chinese ones? Most people tend to know their home turf better, just comes with growing up and living there. Chesapeake Bay for example isn't very well-known in Europe, most people you'd ask on the street probably wouldn't have heard of it before.
try impossible. I have heard of erie, but no clue what it looks like. I heard there are great lakes. And in hindsight I have heard about hudson bay. That about all my knowledge of water in north america. Besides the oceans
True. I know of the Hudson, of course, but never happened to see an image of it ; same for Puget Sound. Winnipeg rings a bell. As for Chesapeake, I've only ever heard of it in Hamilton lol
The hardest is not knowing what these are, but how they are called. For instance I immediately recognized the bay that's inside Maryland but I had not idea what its name could be (I desperately tried Maryland bay, Delaware bay and Carolina bay), and as for the Puget sound, it's even weirder because Puget is the name of an obscure small town not far from where I live, and is the last name I would have thought of for a heavily populated bay on the other side of the world.
Yes! Please accept Chesapeake! I typed it in and I was like " That's not Chesapeake Bay?" Most of the time JetPunk accepts just the main part like Gulf of California, but the Chesapeake Bay should be the same
Agreed, just "Chesapeake" should work, both for consistency with things like "Hudson" working for "Hudson Bay," and because, speaking as someone living in Baltimore, it's frequently just called "The Chesapeake." (Of course, speaking as someone living in Baltimore, we most often just call it "The Bay," but I'll understand not wanting to allow that as a write-in ;)
It's odd that this hasn't been corrected in two years. Chesapeake Bay is the only answer that requires this, so it's very easy to assume that the answer is incorrect when you just type "Chesapeake."
Although it would create a 2-for-1 answer, the P.G. photo should allow A.G. as an alternate answer. I wouldn't recommend referring to it as P.G. in polite company of Saudis, Kuwaitis, etc. - your business aspirations there just went down the plug hole.
Accepts Channel for English Channel, Caribbean for Caribbean Sea, South China for South China Sea, Caspian for Caspian Sea, Hudson for Hudson Bay, Puget for Puget Sound, Baltic for Baltic Sea, Persian for Persian Gulf, Adriatic for Adriatic Sea. But not Chesapeake for Chesapeake Bay. Sure, that makes sense.
i know this has nothing to do with the quiz but like is there something wrong with the interesting facts ive gotten the australia drowning like 20 times now
I was like "Let me try Chesapeake cuz I'll be sad if I miss it as a Maryland resident" and then I tried Chesapeake but not Bay so I almost missed it until I realized I needed the full thing later
Speaking for the people and myself, Chesapeake should work for Chesapeake Bay. Hudson Works for Hudson Bay. Literally, everything else doesn't need the type of body of water (I may be wrong but a majority of them), except this.
Strait of Magellan probably would have been a lot harder without the "Strait of _____" hint, and Lake Winnipeg was churning in my brain for a while until it finally clicked.
That is a dam tough quiz btw QM.
Someone save me a trip to google, where the heck is the 11th answer, I've never heard if it before.
Poor me
ps yes I agree Chesapeake should be enough for Chesapeake Bay

It's like Africa and Oceania have nothing of significance. Couldn't be further from the truth.
