Had no idea almonds were grown so much in California! I was so confused, thinking there was some really obvious grain/fruit that started with "a" that I was completely missing. After guessing apples, apricots, avocados, and amaranth, I just sat staring blankly at my screen for a good while.

The farmers that grow them call them AMONDS because it knocks the "L" out of them when they hit the ground.

Oh my God! When this quiz was featured, I was almost completely done making the same exact quiz, with 12 identical answers! Also, this same exact thing happened to me on my Historical Figures A-Z quiz, where Quizmaster featured a quiz with almost all identical answers. Something seems fishy...

How is Uber California-centric? I feel if youre doing a quiz on a state, it should be exclusively abou that state

Only one I missed was Compton. I was going to whine that it was a pretty obscure answer, but since 72% got it correct it appears the problem is with me. Probably because I never heard of N.W.A. and I've barely heard of Dr. Dre.

I have a feeling it only got 72% because of the movie.

Would visit friends at a church in the central valley, surrounded by almond groves. Every time we visited we would go home with a bag of almonds.

That is partly why the drought is such a problem. Almonds use a lot of water!

Almonds are unfairly blamed for water usage. Yes, they use a lot of water, but they also generate a lot of value. Other crops use water much, much less productively.

Being from California not necessary to do well. Maybe for Almonds, In-n-Out, and Mt Whitney.

There is more to "flagship" than prestige. It's generally the university that receives the most money and support from the state. Berkeley is the flagship for California.

As a californian, the "like" is true, but if you bring it up, the locals hate it.
