Even if I spent every hour of every day of my entire life on JetPunk, I don't think I'd ever get 100% on this.

How about adding a 'scale' so we also learn the approximate distance between those islands?
+3
Level 65
Nov 22, 2015
A miniature scale at the top would be nice.

Scale is fairly easy: the map is one Venezuela (1.0 vz) across. :)

A wonderful new Geographical measure. Can anyone tell me how many Venezuelas Russia measures from East to West?

@CardinalSin, It would be about 3.575 vz

Now THIS is a hard map quiz. Tiny island nations are really difficult for me to remember.

We learned about Montserrat in geography class last wednesday. My teacher thought it was a country o-o

I think I'm better than my teacher at geography!

Montserrat is a sort of country, but it is a colony of United Kingdom. So your teacher was half right.
+4
Level 76
Dec 27, 2015
A lot of "half" things about Montserrat, it's also half uninhabitable due to a volcano that ruined the southern part of the island and literally burried the capital city under ashes. I think that's the only capital city in the world that is also a ghost town.

Half as Interesting made a video about Montserrat, and the ghost capital btw.

I like to study volcanoes (casually and from home of course) so I knew the shapes of the arc islands. It only took me two tries to get 100% :)

Took me two tries too. My first attempt was a pathetic 3/19. Then I studied the shapes, names, and placements of each region and came up with crazy mnemonic devices.

Yeah what's with that? Two islands (each a separate municipality) are missing from the quiz.

Sorry, I feel your pain but, given the scale of the map Saba and Statia would be smaller than a dot.

Then make a dot in the right location with an arrow pointing to it. No problem! Also Isla de Aves is missing.

You should distinguish between Saint Martin and Sint Maarten - it would make the quiz just a bit more challenging!

And correct. Haiti and dominican republic are never consider one (and others in a similar situation)

Saint Martin (the French side) is larger than Sint Maarten (the Dutch side). As the wives tale goes, the French and Dutch administrators of the island were having a territorial dispute and decided to settle it by standing back to back and walking in opposite directions. They agreed that when they met, each had claim to the amount of territory he had covered. Except that the Dutchman, had a bottle of Bols (Gin) in his cloak and made frequent stops to imbibe. He, therefore, covered less ground.

Great Quiz! Please could you add Saba (Netherlands) and Sint Eustatius (Netherlands)? They are both north west of Saint Kitts & Nevis. They are both very much on their own and I think they would complete the quiz Thanks

That's okay. The quiz maker only gives partial credit, even for those we get outright. There is NO WAY that I could get only 85% for the ABC islands!
+1
Level 67
Jun 26, 2019
Ehm, if you get it right, you get it right, if you get it wrong you get it wrong. There is no partial credits.. the two percentages in the answer list mean; percentage of people that got it right, and percentage of the times you got it right taking this test ( so if you took it 5 times and got it correct 4 times, there would be 80% behind tge answer.
