I was going to rant about Singapore bordering Malaysia...then i looked at a map. I NEVER knew that Singapore was an island.

Isn't there a bridge connecting the two though that would be considered an extension of one, if not both, of the countries?

Same goes for the King Fahd Causeway, connecting Bahrain to Saudi Arabia

On the countries bordering Saudi Arabia quiz, Bahrain is no filled in as an answer, though it's one of those answers given to you automatically because it's a bit controversial. However, there is also an island in the middle of the King Fahd Causeway where customs etc is. I don't think there is any such island between Malaysia and Singapore.

I looked it up on Google Maps, and it says the island between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain is split between the two countries, meaning they border each other.

Yeah. I ended up getting the answer for that one only because I was trying to guess what country bordered Saudi Arabia. Apparently I am not so good at knowing where some of those countries lie...

the only one I missed was Monaco - I think of the world map where it looks as if it share a tiny corner of France AND Italy.

Taking a train from Monaco to Italy would probably help. It takes a surprisingly long time before you get to the border.

Yes, your homework before doing any more quizzes is to go to Monaco and take a train to Italy. Chop chop!

There are border posts between Singapore and Malaysia at Johor Bahru - I've been through it. It's a border.

It is a bridge! It is the same concept with Denmark and Sweden; and Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Except Bahrain is a little more complicated.

There are two bridges connecting Singapore to Malaysia, one at Johor Bahru and the other at Tuas Link. I've been through both, and both bridges are technically no man's land: the Singaporean customs are on the Singaporean side of the bridge, and the Malaysian customs are on the Malaysian side. Neither country owns any land on the other side of the Johor Strait, not even for customs, and with the Johor Strait fully separating both, Singapore thus is an island.

Two things:

Cuba should be accepted as only bordering the US, and the UK borders Spain too

Cuba does NOT border the USA! it is an island. It lies some 90 miles off the Florida Coast. (And there are no bridges to confuse the issue like in Europe and Asia).

I missed Cambodia and Belize. I always mix up Cambodia, Colombia and Cameroon. Central America is just pretty difficult, so many countries shoved into one tiny area.

Question 2 - "Switzerland,Austria": I tried both Germany and Italy which both is right, but your quiz did not accept them. So according to you, what IS the correct answer?

The clues give ALL land borders for each answer. Germany and Italy both border many other countries as well as Austria and Switzerland
