Cool quiz, I wanted to suggest a quiz. You could do a countries of the world quiz spelled backwards. I think it would be a fun challenge for me and most other users.
Man, I mentioned it looking like darth vader once myself, but I didnt see it this time, though I was thinking hmm what country in the middle east could this be..
Doesn't Egypt - or River Nile rather - look like a silhuette of a chimp? I can easily see her eye (a lake area?) and mouth (starting just above Abu Simbel). The bend of Nile (north of Luxor) looks like a protruding nostril or something else extra. ;)
BTW. If you ever get a chance to go on a Nile cruise, go, GO! It it the most amazing experience.. felt like a four-day time travel.. <3
yea I can see it, you know there is a word for seeing faces in things, pareidolia (did have to look up the exact word though, not one easy to remember..). Basically meaning (seeing) an imagine besides/on top of the actual depicted one (para idol)
If you get bored google pareidolia and check images :) some are amazing others very funny
Nope! I was curious and bored at work, so I did a quick superposition of the borders over the image and some rough calculations, and I've got Nepal taking up roughly 38% of the image, China taking up about 36%, India about 25%, and Bangladesh has the remaining >1%.
That's what you get with satellite images, you will always get the countries they border in the picture aswell (besides island countries). Only if a country were the exact shape as the picture this wouldnt occur ( apart from zooming in so much you dont see borders at all, but that makes it too hard to guess in most cases)
That *is* the entirety of the main Singapore island (and almost the whole country, with only some islands not shown). And it is white due to urbanisation.
The hardest part for me was guessing the scale of the pictures, so singapore was very difficult since I searched for a much bigger portion of coastline on my imaginary worldmap. Same goes for Bahrain.
Wow. I’m always terrible at these, but this time I got them all. It helped that I got 5 random later question when I was trying to guess the first few.
i got the least guessed answer.
