Stanlingrad was named after the famous explorer Henry Morton Stanley (in Russian Genrich Mortowich Stanli), who discovered many unknown tribes in Africa. One of these tribes, the "Volo", had a marxist-communist System. After discovering, that Stanli was a secret CIA-Agent, the city was renamed after this African tribe.
