How do I quantify the difference between Large/Small Decrease/Increase? I don't like the formulation of that question, leaves space for interpretation (and hurt feelings :D)
1) the quiz is too 'long' in the sense that graphically it could be more 'compact' (so maybe less spacing between questions and answers, somewhat smaller font? or have the 4 possible answers in the same row when they aren't too long?)
2) it would be nice if you could answer with the keyboard (with keys 1-4 and have automatic scrolling down after you answer)
3) at the end of the quiz you should be allowed to see extra information about the possible choices (eg for question 1 show the population of all 4 possible answers)
I love having a new format for a change of pace. Also it may be easier for someone with a physical disability or who for any reason can't type quickly enough for other quizzes. Is there a way (or will there be a way) to designate these sort of quiz so those who might be more inclined toward this type can find them more readily?
It would be cool to show the number of people that pressed every answer, versus just what you pressed. Also, quizzes like this should have something in the title to show that it isn't a typing quiz.
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, I won't be compiling stats for user guesses because it's too complicated from a technical standpoint. Maybe in the future.
I don't want to sound arrogant or ego-centripetal, but I think that the question regarding the growth of Japan should be changed -- the options are quite vague. Otherwise, excellent quiz!
Hahah that made me smile (which is quite an accomplishment, didnt think that would happen today, especially not a few minutes after things were horrible here)
Quizzes with demographics are really interesting. Great Quiz! Hoping we can enjoy more of these. Got 14/20 on a first try, and BTW, seeing the correct answers can be eye opening, too:)
I think this data comes from the Turkish government. The same with Azerbaijan, every ethnic Azeri is counted as muslim by default. However, limited public polling suggests that less than 60% of Azerbaijan population considers themselves muslims
I kept going back and forth on Saudi Arabia with the last two answers. Shouldn't have second guessed myself, ended up getting it wrong. But still got 5 points.
The Japan population growth is sort of misleading. What is a large population decrease and what is a small one? You could realistically argue that 10 decrease is a large decrease. You should say amounts it increased or decreased
I was going to comment the same thing until I looked up the numbers and saw that it had decreased by less than 1% in this time frame. Yes, you *could* argue that losing 10 people out of 128 million is a big decrease, but you'd look pretty stupid making that argument. It's a small decrease.
There were a lot more Christians in Turkey before 1. the forced population exchanges to create a religious ethnostate in Greece and 2. the Armenian genocide.
The Urban Area question could be better written. I thought it was asking which of the cities is the largest city (has the greatest population) within its urban area. Think Fort Worth losing to Dallas, etc. Perhaps "Which of these cities' urban areas has the greatest population?"
2. Saudi Arabia has life expectancy as 76.
These figures are erroneous.
My thoughts on improvements for this format:
1) the quiz is too 'long' in the sense that graphically it could be more 'compact' (so maybe less spacing between questions and answers, somewhat smaller font? or have the 4 possible answers in the same row when they aren't too long?)
2) it would be nice if you could answer with the keyboard (with keys 1-4 and have automatic scrolling down after you answer)
3) at the end of the quiz you should be allowed to see extra information about the possible choices (eg for question 1 show the population of all 4 possible answers)
