Ehhh, a "prehistoric monster." I guess that could mean dinosaur. But it is also kind of implied that nuclear radiation and human tampering affected his form. So, maybe it's like the Indomitus Rex in Jurassic World. Is that a dinosaur?

Maybe Godzilla is just Gojira said with a thick American accent ;) Gojira, the Japanese name, is a combination of gorira (gorilla) and kujira (whale). Because gorilla + whale = dinosaur, obviously.
