If one is enough of a boxing fan to have heard of Ricky Hatton, he/she would surely know that Hearns is the preferred answer.

I agree. But the question as it is written can be answered correctly with 'Hatton'.. So it should be an acceptable answer.

As a Brit with only a passing interest in boxing, I've heard of Ricky Hatton but not Hearns

...although I wouldn't have guessed Hatton anyway

I mean typing “Lewis” brings up both Lennox and Joe Louis, so I don’t think it’s an unreasonable request for Hatton to be on here
