How about allowing "Posh Spice" for Adams? Because that fits the theme better.

That's what I put in there, though I guess it's more a moniker than a name change. Did Malcolm Little officially change his to "X"?

Don't know, but he changed his name again later to El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, which isn't such an easy name to spell.

Yes, he changed it officially to "X". The "X" stood for the original last name of his African ancestors which was "stolen" from them once

they became enslaved. He changed it again to "El-Shabazz"

after his Hajj .

hahaha... you got Prince symbol in there. Hilarious. What a doofus. Though eventually he did change his name back.

also, probably should have got Jabbar considering his picture is at the top.. but didn't think about it.

Actually, it was a rational move. He was in a dispute with his recording company and was in a position where he did not want to release material as "Prince" because of the contract and copyright ramifications.

I guess this symbol won't appear in the residential registration office... or? Fun quiz though

I only got one wrong... and it was the guy in the picture! DUHHH. I blame Monday.

Mark Twain was a Pseudonym not really a name change.

I've always thought that Lew Alcindor was a pretty awesome name as it was. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has some good luck! (And a hell of a lot of skill!)

Me too, Yossarian. As a kid in the early 70s, with my basketball cards, I though there were some pretty cool names in the NBA...Lew Alcindor, Nate Thurmond, Artis Gilmore, Elvin Hayes, Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson. I dunno, just cool-sounding names.

I guess it doesn't really matter, but I don't think Samuel Clemens ever officially changed his name. Mark Twain was just a pen name, wasn't it?

Maybe you should change this new format so that you won't see the questions until after the time starts? The way it's now you practically got infinite time to think about the answers and each quiz is a mega easy speed typing test rather than a timed quiz.

I don't think name changes that are because of marriage should be included in this quiz. Just my two cents...

They definitely are name changes, but I agree the quiz would be more interesting if those didn't count.

Nancy Davis and Victoria Adams should not be on this quiz. They just changed their last names to the names of their husbands, which a majority of married women do.

Curious as to why Posh Spice wasn't accepted...

You should have given us Prince and made us type in the symbol.

The Pope does not change his name. He adopts a name of his favorite Pope while he is the Pope

Tiger Woods is a nickname--he never officially changed his name. Mark Twain is a pen name--he was still Samuel Clemens. The title should be better known names of famous people.

Overrated and extremely hot headed former NBA player.

I don't know who Chad Johnson or Chad Ochocinco are but the latter has a goofy name. Not as bad as what Artest changed his name to, though.

so i put Ronald Artest and it wouldn't accept it even though his full first name would be Ronald ...

If you ever want to add one more to the quiz, professional wrestler the Ultimate Warrior legally changed his name from James Hellwig to Warrior during copyright disputes with the WWF back in the 1990s.

Ochocinco (and Venticinque and Pentangelo) are quite unique names. Have no idea why anyone would want to change them.

Got everything this time. I know that I missed Robert Zimmerman last time and when the answers populated I was thinking "oh yeah!"... this time, I remembered having that reaction but couldn't recall who it was. Finally remembered with 10 seconds to go.

What about Joseph Djugashvili? or Jonathan Leibowitz? Friedrich Drumpf? Theodor Geisel? Hiram Grant? Marie Skłodowska? Saul of Tarsus? Kal-El? Jacob (of the Bible)? Megatron (would become Galvatron)? Cardinal Ratfingers/Ratzinger? Snoop Dogg? Bruce Jenner? Angelina Voight? Amethyst Kelly? Plenty of room for a sequel. Some of these better known than Chad, I'd wager.

Lol at Megatron. Fair play, that one did make me laugh. Tiz a great suggestion. Not sure anyone under 35 will get it though.
