I do not know Jay-Z's real name and unfortunately the quiz did not accept 'Z'. Please accept 'Z' :-)

Jay-Zs real name is Shawn Corey Knowles-Carter. Knowles of Knowles-Carter should be accepted and the first name changed.

I don't see anywhere where his official name includes Knowles. I agree that the first name is spelled incorrectly. It should be Shawn.

I don't follow the lives of celebrities all that much, so I had no idea NIcolas Cage named his son Kal-El and now I'm laughing my ass off about it. xD

His isn't the only strange name here. I think some of these celebrities are high when they come up with these names.

Cage was slated to play Superman in a film written by Kevin Smith and directed by Tim Burton. It was killed just weeks shy of production. Google Cage Superman and you can see him in the suit. It's almost like looking into a parallel universe where he played the part.

It's a real shame that movie never happened. I don't know if it would have been GOOD, but can you imagine the memes?

@martay

Haha, it looks like he was photoshopped into the suit, like the Cage of Thrones project.

Nic Cage gets even weirder. His real last name is Coppola – he's Francis' nephew or something – but he didn't want to rely on his famous name to make it as an actor. So he changed it to Cage, after Luke Cage, the Marvel superhero (lately of his own eponymous Netflix series).

I kind of feel like these should be pairs where the children have garnered fame of their own accord. Some of these "famous" children have done nothing but be born.
+2
Level 65
Mar 25, 2014
What does that matter? The quiz doesn't specify that. Either way, some of these famous children will probably grow up wishing they weren't famous.

I see Beekash's point. Unless the children made a name for themselves, the only reason most of them are on the list is because their parents gave them unusual names...which may answer the question of why their parents gave them unusual names. If Nicholas Cage had named his son Nick Jr. he probably wouldn't be on this list. Publicity is always good in the acting profession.

In today's world, is someone who doesn't have their own Wikipedia page (like Kal-El Cage) truly famous?

I think that's a special case because his *name* itself is famous. I have been asked by several different people "Did you know Nicolas Cage named his son Kal-El?!?!?!?" If it were Jim Cage or something, I'd agree with you.

Only 11/24, but am pleasantly surprised that this quiz is not as US-centric as the ones we've come to expect.

Only 17% for Pitt. Come on, people! "Pitt the Elder." "Lord Palmerston!"

I quite agree. I could only score 4/24 for this tedious celebrity-centred quiz but that one was easy!

I had no idea Wayne Gretzky's daughter was any kind of famous. I'm a huge fan of his too. Interesting. She's the only one I missed. Had no idea Dakota Johnson and Don Johnson were related, but I recognized they share a last name and took a good guess.

Who is Shawn Carter and why on earth would he name his son Blue Ivy?

Shawn Carter is Jay-Z, and because...I don't know. Some rich people just need to find new ways to entertain themselves, I guess.

I think for the same reason that you see Ferraris with hot pink or neon orange interiors, because, f' it... I'm already rich so I'm gonna do what I feel like.
