Although James Dean did move to California as a child, he moved back to Indiana at age 9 to live with relatives after his mother died. He lived there for the rest of his childhood and graduated from Fairmount High School.
I know that hundreds could be added depending on how obscure you want to get, but I think famous enough would be Benjamin Harrison, Red Skelton, and Eugene V. Debs. (I would personally add Strother Martin, greatest actor ever!)
Love the Strother Martin love. The Trappers episode of Gunsmoke is one of the finest, and he is perfect in it. Anthony Caruso is another Hoosier who was a quality character actor of similar era and genre.
If I had a nickel for every time an actor with the last name "Driver" had a large head, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but weird that it happened twice, especially since they aren't related to each other.
In terms of presidents, Benjamin Harrison seems to be a better fit than Lincoln, who is associated with Illinois and Kentucky more than Indiana.
Could you also perhaps add John Green to the list? Though he wasnt born there, he has spect more than half his life in Indianapolis and considers himself to be from Indiana.
