Cybertron is correct. R2-D2 is from Nabo, C3P0 is from Tatooine, and the Cylons are from wherever they come from, too, so it seems like being a robot trumps being an alien.
which is probably the best way of doing it. I personally would have been a bit confused to see R2-D2 on the aliens list. but technically he is one. as long as your definition of alien is that they come from a planet other than earth.
I think the point jmellor is making is that Transformers might be closer to alien than robot because they are not fabricated by some other sentient organism, but reproduce like an organism. However, I’m not too knowledgeable on Transformers lore… shrugs
There are different origin stories depending on the source. In the G1 cartoon the Transformers were created as sentient robots by the semi-organic Quintessons. In the original comic book series published concurrently, the Transformers were birthed from Cybertron itself after the god Primus was entombed inside the planet. In both versions of the origin story, the Transformer race was created... though the 1st version is more the type of robot origin you seem to be thinking of. In all the different versions of their origin that I know of they are alien to the planet Earth, though there are dozens of different Transformers continuities at this point and I only ever cared about the 1st generation stuff.
There are a lot of robots and aliens that could be on here... maybe to make it a bit more diverse? Right now it's very dominated by Star Wars and Star Trek.
Especially annoying for those of us who will never watch those two series.
TBF, I wasn’t expecting a great score anyway, but the way I only recognised two/three from the entire list made me decide to just not bother doing the quiz at all. 😔😤
Whilst there are quite a few Star Wars characters I think you've overestimating how many there were if you're blaming that on why you only recognised 3 of them. 14 of the pictures are not from Star Wars or Star Trek.
DrWhoFanJ: Why is that "especially annoying"? There are lots of quizzes on here on topics about which I know almost nothing. I don't get "annoyed" by them, I simply understand the fact that everyone can't possibly know about every topic. Given that, if you've never seen any Star Wars or Star Trek, and are so militant about it as to proclaim that you "will never watch" either franchise, then it's probably safe to say that a quiz titled "Famous Robots and Aliens" is simply not for you.
You must be new here. 5 years isn't even the longest gap between comments on this quiz. Since new people keep coming to old quizzes, it happens a lot around here.
With as many robots made popular in media I'm surprised you picked sometng obscure like the fembots. You could've done Karen from Spongebob, Glados from Portal, Jenny from Life as a teenage robot, Hal from 2001 a space odyssey or Marvin from Hitchhiker's guide. With aliens Stitch from Lilo and Stitch, Zim from Invader Zim, Xenomorphs from Alien, Predator and Frank n Fueter from Rocky Horror could be included too just so it isnt so sci fi.
I knew the Fembots but have never heard of Karen or Jenny before. Marvin would be redundant with Marvin the Martian on the quiz. The xenomorphs don't really have a proper name that's just what they're commonly called by people referencing the movies. Same with the "predators."
Actually not like the predators. They are called Yautja, so they do have a name that could be used for the quiz. How many people would got it is other thing.
Are the Simpsons losing popularity so quickly. Surprised to see kang and kodos the least guessed even below Alf (is Alf repeated on US TV ).I haven't really watched the Simpsons regularly for about 15 years but surely the characters are still very well known.
Ruined my previous perfect score by adding whatever those hitchhiking things are... I assume from the Simpsons or Futurama based on appearance. You could add the Mooninites from Aqua Teen Hunger Force if you wanted to throw on some more not really famous aliens and robots.
What the hell is a Wall-E? The robot I'd most like to see here and the one I'm most disappointed is not here, is Kryten from Red Dwarf. My other favourites are K-9 from the old Doctor Who, and Marvin the depressed robot from the old Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy TV series; which would, regrettably, clash with Marvin the Martian.

Anyway, got them all, as should anyone with the most basic literacy in very popular pop culture.
I only know someone with a shark version, so didn't know had an actual name
Well, RoboCop is none of those
