OI! Where's the Doctor? There is no Doctor on the T quiz, for THE Doctor, and not on the D quiz, for Doctor. WHERE IS HE?

My mind went straight to the Rescuers as well. Would have been very disappointed if I didn't figure it out eventually, considering how obsessed I was with them when I was six years old.

That's technically the name of the show, not the character's name, but I agree Dr Who should be accepted simply because so many know the character that way, even if it is wrong.

I've never heard of several of these, or else it was so long ago that I don't remember the details. And it may be a gender thing - when I saw fictional characters with a D my first thought was Darcy. But that's okay. What really irks me is that I saw the film, Django, only a couple of years ago but I didn't remember his wife was named Broomhilda, and all I could think of for the Karate Kid was Danny. Grrrr.

Actually, for the "Bully in Harry Potter's class" question "Dudley" should also be accepted - before Harry went to Hogwarts he was in the same class as his cousin and the latter was definitely a bully

How do you know they went to the same class? That clearly wasn't their intention when the boys went off to boarding school.

Interesting point. The first book does describe scenes of Dudley bullying Harry at school. And Dudley does better fit the classic bully archetype: a big galoot picking on people smaller than him. And both his names start with D!

You're right, during Chapter 2 of the first book, after we skip from Harry being a baby to him being ten years old but before the summer holidays when he gets his Hogwarts letter, he and Dudley are in the same class. So that 0.3% of the series' total length, compared to the ~80% that has Harry and Draco as classmates (starting from Draco's introduction until the end of Half-Blood Prince, when Harry drops out), does technically make Dudley a correct answer. Well done.

Funny, I remember Broomhilda from Django, but I didn't think it was spelled the same way as it had been intentionally corrupted in the Warner Bros/Bugs Bunny cartoons. The correct Nordic/German spelling of Odin's shieldmaiden's name doesn't include the household sweeping implement, but rather "Brun". That was merely a play on words by Chuck Jones when he named the witch that tormented Bugs in the Hansel and Gretel episode.

It is how she's credited in the movie, though. It might be a shout-out to the cartoons, or possibly a mistake where the Looney Tunes version has become more well-known than the original and Tarantino genuinely thought that was how it was spelled (similar to what Looney Tunes has done to the name "Nimrod.")

Daniel is acccepted though. Not sure if I ever saw the movie, but atleast snippets/references. My thought process went like: .........(whole lot of nothing) ah! Something san! Dan-san? Ah dan is short for Daniel! Got it.
