Good quiz. But didn't Peter Pan take Wendy to Neverland?

Seconded, Wonderland must've spilled over from the Alice clue.

Was surprised to see Downton Abbey and Pride and Prejudice so low, definitely expected them to beat Great Expectations and Baldrick's companion.

It seems to me that younger people, especially males, represent the highest number of quiz takers on this site, based on the percentage of correct answers for clues about movies, video games, music, superheroes, Pokemon, etc. which appeal to that gender and age group. Therefore it stands to reason that group wouldn't be as likely to be interested in Downton Abbey and Jane Austen. There are exceptions, of course.

Because Downton Abbey is without a doubt objectively the worst work on this quiz. It's total maudlin trash

That's one person's opinion and you know what they say about opinions. I find "Downton Abbey" to be an excellent show, well written, strong characters and performances, filmed very well, and highly entertaining - even without car chases, "blood on the stairs", or gratuitous sex. I'm a fan, own the entire series on cd, and have watched it several times. I have found it to be a great way to spend a cold winter "weekend" and have even learned a few things about British culture, values, and history of the time.

I think that's the thing - the values are all wrong. It's 21st-century values in the clothes of 1910. It's very watchable but (for me at least) too modern in attitude to be believable. "Belgravia" had moments that were even more jarring than anything in Downton Abbey, to be fair.

Never watched a single episode of Downton Abbey, so no surprise it was the only one I got wrong. Period dramas are dull.

Not sure but isn't Nanny Mcphee also a flying nanny?

Pretty strict on the spelling of 'Havisham' there. I knew the name but couldn't spell it.

Seconded. I went through 3 iterations before spelling it close enough to trip the correct answer. I wanted there to be an R in the middle of that name, for some reason.

Great quiz! But Alice Liddell was not fictional, only her adventures in Wonderland were (:

She inspired the character but there is no proof it was largely based on her. Dodgson paid homage to her in the books but maintained the character was not based on anyone.

Is accepting just the first name for those with first and surnames really testing our knowledge? Typing in Harry and getting it right makes it too easy. I can't think of any other quiz site or TV quiz show that just allows first names.

Who knows Harry Potter but not his surname? I don't think accepting just the first name is making it any easier to get right, just easier to type. You either understand the clue or you don't. I doubt anyone is getting it half right.

Why? The 'sh' digraph is needed for the correct pronunciation - if you miss out the h and you get a different sounding word.

Where are the Doctor and Mr Bean?
+10
Level 76
Dec 12, 2018
I believe the Doctor is currently on a Fleurian space station in the Orion nebula fighting off invading Sontarans who wish to weaponize the localized temporal anomalies causing people to randomly age backward and forward through their own timeline, and which if left to grow unchecked (or if controlled by the war-mongering Sontarans) could tear the fabric of the universe apart.

Mr. Bean is locked in a public lavatory.
