Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol deserve to be on this list about as much as a five year old with finger paint.

Also, It should accept Frieda for Frida.

From wikipedia: Frida Kahlo de Rivera (July 6, 1907 – July 13, 1954; born Magdalena Carmen Frieda Kahlo y Calderón)

Are you sure you're not talking about Jackson Pollock? Lichtenstein and Warhol are Pop artists, not paint splashes.

I used to think Pollock was bollocks until I saw Blue Poles. That is an INCREDIBLE painting in 'the flesh'. His stuff doesn't translate well into small pictures in books, but the actual paintings are astonishing. I'm converted.

It says "famous artists," not "realist painters." You not liking their art styles doesn't make them any less famous or less deserving of appearing on this quiz.

In the '60s a ham sandwich could be considered a great artist, avant-garde, etc., if it frequented "21" & the other dungeons

of influence.

Re Lichtenstein and Warhol. Both were very influential artists. Your remark is unwarranted and ignorant.

You must be insufferable at art museums.

Could you accept Frieda for Frida Kahlo since that was the spelling she had at birth?

@Lakutiss1324 Your opinion. Art is all a matter of opinion and preference. What seems silly and juvenile to you can touch another person deeply. Art is one of those things where no one is right or wrong.

How dare people appreciate Frida Kahlo? Is that it? How upsetting that she has an immediately recognizable and memorable name? I'm confused at what it is you're sad about here.

Warhol's "official" name was Andrew Warhola. People have nicknames and stage names. As long as his birth name is accepted, I don't think it's a problem to display the name he most regularly went by.

I see complaints above about 20th century pop and modern artists about which I disagree, but at least they were people you know of... who would include Gerhard Richter among these luminaries?

I have to assume Gerhard Richter is the creator's uncle, otherwise there is no explanation for the inclusion.

Googling some of these names makes me realize why I thought art was a waste of time.

I should've just ignored what was put in front of me, and sought out stuff like Vermeer and Homer.

Congratulations lobbyists and special interest groups.
