I think you mix up "non pareil" and "sans pareil". We never say anything like "non pareil", but it would rather mean "not the same".

I always thought the sense was that they were "unparalleled".

What are 3 musketeers? Why not just say Mars bars and Milky Way bars, I know those are a tad more universal. And seriously, never heard of half of this stuff, including the Italian cocktail. Why not use a well known Italian beer instead?

But there's no nougat in Mars bars nor Milky Way bars.
Level 60

Brits have a jaded idea of nougat being stiff and solid and sticking to teeth. Good nougat is light and airy and soft and lovely.

@carry The americans call their milkyways 3 musketeers, and what the rest of the world calls mars, they call milkyways. Or something like that.

(luckily something similar is not the case with the actual planets, that would get so confusing haha. (Well kind of like million in some languages means billion in others... who came up with that bright idea! "Let's make things more confusing")

In my honest opinion, Nonpareils are startlingly underwhelming, considering their name. They're just dark chocolate chips with some crunchy white somethings on top.

I'm from Australia and 'nonpareils' are called (chocolate) freckles here. I'd never heard of nonpareils!

Definitely haricot beans. In 53 years I've never heard mention of navy beans.
