In the countries of the world quiz, just typing "Antigua" works. I never bothered to type "Antigua and Barbuda" and missed it thinking it was an oversight by the Quizmaster. I should have never doubted the Quizmaster...but perhaps allow "Antigua" for consistancy?
Because on the field you have two wide receivers. There on 11 men on the field on both sides of the ball and you always have at least 2 wide receivers.
That said, this offensive lineup is no longer "typical" and virtually nobody refers to a running back as a halfback anymore. It might be better to speak of it as "traditional." Even those teams who carry a true fullback only use that player as such in very particular situations - and probably no more than a handful of times a game. Three and four wideout- or two tight end-sets are both more common, as is the use of an "H-back." Even the three and four (or five)-wideout sets feature players who are more properly referred to as in "slot" positions.
i wasted so much time trying to get the football lineman correct. I put in tackle and guard, nothing. I put in offensive guard and O tackle, nothing. I put in left/right offensive tackle and left/right offensive guard, nothing. come on! one of those variations should count. Especially if you are going to be sloppy enough to accept ten for tight end :)
The Susan B. Anthony dollar coin has not been minted since 1999 and is no longer current. It has been replaced by the Sacagawea dollar coin and the Presidential dollar coin series.
I believe the currency category should be removed from the quiz, considering that the mints started producing golden dollars for all of the US presidents.
Agreed @Rocamoror. I looked at the quiz, saw the first two categories and decided not to bother. Very American centric, which I understand is 'target audience' as far as this site is concerned but the first two categories are not really ones that those of us from outside North America have much hope of guessing.
There should be eleven players on the field, but some of them are the same positions just on opposite sides of the field. This is the basic lineup for the offensive line going from left to right. The quarterback is in the middle a little behind the line, the center is in front of the QB (the center snaps the ball to the quarterback) there are wide receivers on both ends, etc. It was a little confusing to me at first, too, even though our son played college football.
Yeah, so strange. Why would anyone know a movie that movie that made hundreds of millions of dollars with a cast full of A-list actors that's a remake of a movie that starred A-list entertainers from their own respective era? Crazy!!
Before I actually clicked on the quiz, I spent a good five minutes trying to predict what some of the categories would be. The only groups of eleven I could even think of in that time were "Presidents since JFK's assassination" and "Ocean's Eleven members". Hard to guess at? Sure (I only got two of them). Is the movie unheard of? Certainly not.
Interesting quiz. It's mainly an eclectic mix of Americana with some chemistry and political geography thrown in. I did poorly (as expected) on the Oceans 11 actors and football positions, but still garnered 4/5.
When I see the word currency, I only think of paper money. So, I missed four names because those four people appear on the coins. Overall, I scored 49/66. Thanks for the quiz!
