You should change the displayed answer too. What order was it? Jesuit, not Jesuits.
+2

Strickly speaking, the Jesuit Order is known as the "Society of Jesus." Jesuit priests have "S.J." following their names.

Strictly speaking, strickly isn't a word.

'Chariot Race' should work

That will work now.

This one is insanely hard. Only 7/20 and I got 17 minimum on all the other ones. Jeez

I agree. It was too hard. I've now changed three questions to make them easier, although the quiz is still difficult.

Guess I should feel good about my 19/20! It didn't seem unusually easy, not difficult to me - just kind of middle of the road (as presently updated).

I felt it was OK. It's a nice quiz QM. Maybe allow the short-cut Xmas...?

19/20, found it easy. The only one I didn't get was the American general but I was aware of the name.

Tecumseh has to be up there with the greatest middle names of all times.

Not gonna lie, I almost put 'stonecutters' for the secret society question.

Maybe accept Spanish for Spain since that's the answer if you read the question as "what civil war" instead of "what country's civil war"
+2
Level 75

Probably should.

Maybe also accept Louis the Last for The Sun King since that's the answer if you read the question as "Louis XVI" instead of "Louis XIV"

:p

Louis XVI was not the last king of France (that would be Louis-Philippe, 1830-1848), nor was he the last Louis (that would be Louis XVIII, 1815-24).

"Louis the Last" is a nickname given to Louis XVI, I'm not responsible for its historical veracity...

Although, it would be funny if someone was called Louis the Last during his life.

"Why are you calling me like that?"

"No reason. Don't worry, your majesty. There certainly won't be any revolution that would dethrone you." *wink*

Disappointed that the empress question didn't include (and allegedly horses). I imagine quite a few people sent telegrams from Kitty Hawk in 1903 other than the most famous person.

Wait. The Orient Express only ran between Paris and Istanbul once???

To me, "once ran" means it used to run; "ran once" means it ran exactly one time.

Interesting trivia about the baking family. They started out in Germany. So the origin of the name is "rothen Schild", or red shield in German. It has nothing to do with the current pronunciation of "roth's child".
