Sadly, yes. And all that mining has left many washed up mining communities with ugly physical scars across their landmarks. Or, if the community was as unlucky as, say, Centralia, they got left on fire for a couple hundred years.

Stallone should've gotten the Best Actor Oscar for "Rocky", IMO. Sentiment was strong with Peter Finch for "Network", however, since he had passed away.

I hate that quizzes accept the incorrect spelling of "Pittsburg." It means those of us who spell it right get screwed up on our next answer because we have an extra H left over.

Johnstown but nothing about Gettysburg? Pennsylvania was also site of the first modern oil well in history, though some places in Canada make similar claims. This was part of the curriculum when I was teaching corporate history of Aramco in Saudi Arabia.
