How is Shutter Island a horror movie?

It was definitely scary. A psychological scary movie instead of slapstick horror. What I never understood though was how "Panic Room" was supposed to be scary or thrilling at all? + I agree with the one comment below. Paris Hilton "acting" would make any movie scary.

Agree - Shutter Island is definitely a psychological thriller rather than horror.

Like the quiz. That being said, there is a difference between suspense/thriller and horror movies. Most of these are not "horror" movies. Just my opinion.

I wonder why you chose the far lesser known remake of Psycho? I would find it if you gave Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh...

the fact that Gus had the gaul to remake Psycho is unbelievable. Hitchcock was a master with no equal.

I would have gotten House of Wax if it had said Vincent Price and Carolyn Jones. The remakes just weren't very good.

The Vincent Price House of Wax WAS a remake.

Psycho & House of Wax were disappointing (and unnecessary) modern remakes. The originals are the only versions of those movies that really count!

The original was titled The Horrors of the Wax Museum and is an adequate film. The first remake is the famous version with Vincent Price and by far the best. In view of that fact, it is silly to say the originals are the only versions that really count.

One might as well say the original version of The Maltese Falcon is the only one that really counts. That mediocre curio with Ricardo Cortez pales in comparison to the remake with Humphrey Bogart.

what a terrible film Bram Stokers Dracula was , I'm a huge fan of the novel and to call a film Bran Stokers Dracula and then change so much and even try to rewrite some if it .awful.

Looking at the two separately, they are entertaining, but the book is just SO much better. Gary Oldman really carries that film.

Many of these is questionable to label horror movies, but The Devil's advocate is by far the most nonsensical. Just cause it has the devil in it doesn't mean it's horror.
