This was really cool! Only one I had no idea on was Attu, but I got it on my 2nd guess just by playing probabilities. One issue though, is that apparently Nicaragua is acceptable for Jamaica, but isn't being accepted, only Honduras.

It looks to me like mainland Honduras beats out mainland Nicaragua by about 500m.

"Mainland" means excluding Isla San Pio.

You're probably right, but given that the point jutting farthest out into the ocean is bisected by the border, I can understand the quiz-maker giving both answers, even if Jamaica being marginally north of that line makes a small difference.

Not that obscure if you're into war history - Attu was the site of the only land battle fought on US soil in WWII.

Why is France closer to the UK than Ireland? Why is Saudi Arabia closer to Bahrain than Qatar or UAE?Why is Mexico closer to Cuba than the USA (Florida) Come On, already!

Feb 24, 2017
Ireland is not a mainland country. It is an island. The Yucatan peninsula of Mexico is closer to Cuba than mainland Florida, - the keys aren't mainland. There is a small point jutting out from Saudi Arabia that makes it closer to Bahrain than Qatar.

Bahrain should accept Qatar, due to the Hamar islands which are very close to Qatar, closer than Bahrain is to Saudi Arabia.
