The first question is a little confusing... Actually, the first coffee machines were made in France before Italians improved them. Also, blue jeans was invented in Italy: in fact, the word "jeans" comes from the city of Genoa, where this fabric was typical long before Levi Strauss patented it in the US.

So many things invented in Italy! Changed "blue jeans" to "movie camera".

I dont think I knew the word jeans came from the word genoa, interesting :) (I am aware of a lot of other things that have the same root as genoa)

Indeed the word jean comes from the city of Genoa. But after a long course : "Jean" is an english word from the english pronouciation of the french word "Janne(s)" wich was an old name (in French) for Genoa.

Tesla was the first person to patent radio technology, not Marconi. Maybe you should put something else invented in Italy instead not to confuse people.

Though the colours of the flag are correct, the order isn't right. It should be "green, white and red" (as described in the Italian Constitution), since the green is towards the mast and the red is the part that flows. I know it's a picky comment in an otherwise great quiz, but many Italians too do not know at all the exact order.

Is the question "What are, in order, the colors of the Italian flag?" No? Then it's fine as it is.

Call me a Tesla loyalist, but Radio was not invented in italy. It may have been the first place where it was manufactured and sold, but not invented.

Omg. I actually confused Tamerlane for Talleyrand there and said to myself: "Oh yeah, that's the french minister, not an italian." :-D Still got the correct answer though.

I watched a video that had an interesting theory that Columbus was a Portuguese nobleman... Wikipedia also gives multiple other theories for his origins. I'm not saying the question should necessarily be changed because the Genoa theory is still the most common, but it's just worth noting that his origins haven't been confirmed.

Didn't opera exist in China for a long time before it did in Italy? Not that my knowledge of Chinese history is brilliant, but the all-knowing Wikipedia seems to think Chinese opera started at least 1700 years ago. Different kind of opera though maybe?

It's a common mistake that Marconi invented the radio... It was Tesla
