I second Istalia. It's not like Washington Monument takes up the space of two whole states or anything. Replace it with Maryland, please.

Ah, I didn't notice the footnote before. Sorry about that.

Also, BestLoser, I looked it up and found that Washington Monument is located in Maryland state-wise. Just saying.

It is not "located in Maryland state-wise". It is in the District of Columbia. Which is not part of a state.

The first Washington Monument is in Maryland. In Baltimore. The second Washington Monument is also in Maryland, on South Mountain outside of Frederick. That might be the confusion.

@Husker: The Statue of Liberty is in New York State. Liberty Island is officially part of New York, not New Jersey.

It's "Pikes Peak," not "Pike's Peak." I didn't know until now when I missed the question and looked it up.

There is also no apostrophe in Devils Tower. I don't know whose naming these things.
