They did it in the show as well. In the episode about Moe's rag that used to be a tapestry. There was a flashback to medieval France, where Homer had to leave to go to war in Flanders. Oh the good times when The Simpsons were still funny.

Superman? How should I know? I hate DC heroes, have never seen any movies, and always want the villains to win. They're so much more fun than the heroes. Marvel heroes? Definitely, win win, except Iron Man because I hate him. He should belong to DC. Although Deadpool really doesn't quite count as a hero. But he's an antihero, not a villain per se, so it's okay.

Not only that, but using Fortress in the clue and then forcing us to use Fortress again the answer is rather redundant, isn't?
+2
Level 43
Jun 24, 2014
I think when there is a specific word used in the hint, we shouldn't have to expect that to be part of the answer. So maybe rewording the hints so "fort" and "fortress" are not in the hint would make it less confusing.

The hint is "Fortress where Superman goes to be alone". So then, you've given away the word starting with F, making the answer "of Solitude", neither word of which starts with F. You really need to change the clue to not include "Fortress". Could it not be "Place where Sueprman goes to be alone", or just "Where Superman goes to be alone"?

Dec 20, 2016
Me too! Kept thinking there must be another Fortress something!

And worse, you can just answer "Solitude", which is very non-F-beginning.
+1
Level 66
Sep 28, 2019
As many people have stated before. Solitude does not start with an f. Having fortress in the clue indicates a "fortress of f....." is what you are looking for (i even made fortitude out of solitude, thought maybe there is another fortress i dont know about, because was pretty sure it was solitude)

especially since looking at the comments you deleted another clue that had part of the answer in the clue (something with fort)

The Nordic countries (i.e. those in the Nordic Council) are Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. I agree Finns aren't necessarily Scandinavian, but we definitely count as Nordic.

Divantalya, please read what you wrote first, anzi doesnt even mention jutland. Finland has nothing to do with it, jutland is the peninsula denmark is on, and a little bit of germany.

not to be mean but I have seen many comments from you stating facts that arent even close to being true, even after people showed you you were incorrect and urged you to research before commenting (or atleast after..). Not ambiguous things or common misconceptions but things that are clearly wrong. If you want to make a better impression I really advise you to look things up, especially after people correct you.

That being said, finland IS nordic country, but not a scandinavian one, but IS part of fennoscandia. (And has as much to do with jutland as it has with ireland)
