I myself never considered the islands to be part of central America, but obviously, they are included in this quiz. So I'm wondering the same thing. Several of the island nations are missing. Perhaps they're just too small to include on a map quiz?

Grenada and Dominica are part of the Windward Islands of the Lesser Antilles located on the Caribbean tectonic plate. Not a part of Central America.

So then why is Trinidad there?

Grenada and Dominica are part of Central America as this map depicts them. They and Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, etc. are all much too small to be shown with countries like Nicaragua which itself is pretty small. There is a Lesser Antilles map quiz out that just came out recently if you want to try it.

AngieD, although I'm sure that's a very technical answer if that was what Quizmaster was thinking then he would have left out Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica.

Yes, the poor neglected Lesser Antilles. But I've never heard anyone outside of this site refer to the islands of the Caribbean as part of Central America. People in those places may refer to their region as the Caribbean, the West Indies, Latin America, America, or other things (depending largely on the specific country), but I've never heard "Central America." That probably should count for something.

You're right. We don't refer to ourselves as Central American. I wouldn't even say we refer to ourselves as Latin American, except maybe the Spanish speaking islands. Rather, we just know/resign ourselves that we'll be classed with Latin (or South) America. In the English speaking islands, you'll hear West Indian and Caribbean above all else.

This map is the easiest map I have seen for the middle america and I beat it all of the time, so Quizmaster can you make another one that is a lot harder and send it to me on the comments and I will beat that one for you. I always beat this one with at least 1:00 to spare and all of the other times it is more time to spare, so make another one that has no outlines or something. and also this map almost gave my computer a cyber attack, so will you please make one that is really. Another complaint is that it would not take me to the next levels and I have to stay on the same level for ever and never get to the next one. I think that it is way to easy for my sixth graders and make it harder. I live in ohio and i am out bye.
