Check out Derby Line, Vermont. There are actually houses and other buildings (like the town library) that are in both countries. The drinking water is pumped from wells in Canada, stored in a reservoir in the US, then distributed to both sides of the border via a system maintained by the Canadians. That place is a trip, man.

It may spread across borders, but they are not one and the same. Canadian citizes on their side of the border are not American citizens, and vice versa.

The Dutch have at least 2 cities that the borders run though and they are considered to be in 2 countries. One is Kerkrade (Dutch-German) and the other I forgot the name of, but it's a completely impossible to call it either Belgian or Dutch, it's both.

Darn, I had to go through U.S. Customs to spend the night at the hotel we booked in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Canada should file a grievance with the U.N.

There is a sister city on the Michigan side of the border with the same name. Much like there is a Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas is right across the border.
