There's a reason for that. Gloucestershire, Leicestershire, Yorkshire, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Lancashire, Lincolnshire, Durham County. The county capitals often share the names of the counties.

Chill, people, it's just a quiz, the answer for the quiz master (thanks for taking the time to create this, by the way) is to re-title it British Isles cities.

They're not. Not sure about all the English ones, but Kirkwall certainly isn't a city - or anything close! That's why Quizmaster mentions in the description that some aren't technically cities.

Yes, not "technically" cities in a similar way to how Aberdeen isn't "technically" the capital of Belgium

isle of man, jersey, guernsey etc are all independent little places that rule themselves, are not part of Britain, but have pledged allegiance to the British Crown. They belong to the Crown. The UK Government has no real say in these places. The reigning monarch is the ultimate Head of State, though all decisions he/she is asked to make will in fact be decided by the sitting Home Secretary. In the case of Jersey and Guernsey, their ruler since ancient times has been the Duke of Normandy. Due to William the Conqueror (Duke of Normandy) making himself King of England, that title is currently held by the reigning Monarch of Britain, and is seperate from her role as Queen. Isle of Man is slightly different, has been ruled by several countries, but English King became Lord of Mann around the late 1300's, and that title passes on to the current Monarch. Britain does do the foreign affairs for Man, and defence for all three, but thats it. And what about Wells, Ely, and St Asaph?

Level 32

All three of those cities are tiny, much better examples would be Portsmouth, Southampton and Leeds, all of which are not only bigger but also very important

Very surprised to get 100% on this. But the process of elimination can be quite effective. Clearly. I just started with the ones I knew and the ones I felt were right. At the end I was left with Aberdeen and Inverness, because I had doubts about which one was the northernmost of the two. Figured it had to be Inverness for some reason and I was right. Once again, I just surprised myself!

In 90% of the time without good enough reason at all, and even when then have an actual point, you could ásk it to be permitted. Quizmaster can make a quiz called the the 3 continents if he wants, you didnt hire him, so he doesnt nééd to do anything.
