Rabbit is a little uncommon in some cultures — the urban US, for instance — but fish is extremely common around the world. And, uh, it even works in the context of the movie it's used in, in a way....
To all of the people questioning rabbit as a food... it is. It's not very uncommon, you just obviously have not been to a location which serves rabbit.
rabbit is quite rarely eaten in america. That is obvious to me. Stop pretending that it's everywhere. Yes people hunt it. Yes i had some at a Chinese restaurant once in virginia. Can you go to your local Kroger or Safeway or Wegmans or Publix and find rabbit on the shelf? No.
Ive seen rabbit for sale in Fry's which is owned by Kroger. They were in teh same part that has cornish game hens and other things like that.. and I admit aren't very common.. still ..
to pretend that rabbit is not eaten is pretty stupid. Many recopies call for it.
And have none of these people ever watched a Bugs Bunny cartoon? Why do they think there's a wabbit season? Heck, that's where I learned about hasenpfeffer.
It's the worst piece of arthouse crap you'll ever wish you didn't see. Flat, predictable at a 4-year old level, written for college kids who think tired tropes are major epiphanies.
Is the correct title Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café? That's what I was always knew it as, but maybe both are correct. Anyway nice quiz, thanks.
It was also Matt Damon's debut, before he turned 18. There were a couple other teenagers who are now mature actors and Vincent D'Onofrio not long after Full Metal Jacket. It's been a couple decades since I saw it.
I'm willing to bet 90% of getting Fried Green Tomatoes came from that one Simpsons episode (guilty here too. I had no idea all those three things actually existed until I looked it up years later :P).
...i dislike the fact that rabbits, ducks, pigs and chickens should be referred to as 'food'...they are living, breathing (except when slaughtered) beings...but then i'm a vegan so i wouldn't would i...end of rant...;-)

(and yes im too, lazy to use interpunction, apparently not to mention it though..)
